Goethe-Institut School Film Festival in Victoria and National Finals in Australia

Congratulations to all makers of films in German for the School Film Festival.

Congratulations to Box Hill HS for the 2011 film Alle Wege führen nach Rom winning the Most Outstanding Film in 10 years of the competition in Victoria at the 2012 School Film Festival in Melbourne.

 

Goethe-Institut/AGTV Year 10 Awards in 2012

The awards were presented on the Main Stage at Federation Square at the GDO in July 2012. Congratulations to:

  • Hayley from Luther College was awarded a 3-week GI language course in Germany held in Jan 2013.
  • Harry from Trinity GS and Caitlin from Glen Eagles SC where awarded holiday courses at the GI in Melbourne.

 

German roX Competition in 2012

Congratulations to the students for their entries.

The winning song in German was composed by Michael from Vermont SC and performed on the Main Stage at Federation Square at the GDO.

And an Honourable Mention was awarded to Patrick, Mathew, Georgia, Maddi from Viewbank SC, who also performed their original composition.

 

AGTV Victorian Poetry Competition State Final Results

Regional finals are held throughout Victoria culminating in the State Final at the Austrian Club in Heidelberg in August.

Thanks to all the sponsors of shields and donators of prizes.

 

Language Perfect World Championships

Students from around the world compete in this award-winning, international online competition. An entry fee usually applies.

 

World Premiere: JUGENDMAILBOX on SBS Radio

An opportunity for students to hear their voices on the airways about topics that are of interest or concern to them. Ask you teacher how to become involved in the JUGENDMAILBOX project.

Contributions in the German language for the first broadcast of the JUGENDMAILBOX were submitted by students on the AGTV Geelong Network and Viewbank College Sister-School visit to Marburg earlier in 2011. These were edited by SBS for broadcast on the premiere show on Tuesday 9th August on 93.1 FM in Victoria

GDO - German Day Out July 2011

The SBS Jugend Mailbox was launched at the Melbourne Town Hall by Pamela Rauleder. 

Lachlan Douglass from Oberon HS spoke at the Melbourne Town Hall about his experiences in Germany courtesy of his GI/AGTV Year 10 Award in 2010.

First Deutsch roX Song Writing Competition was conducted at the GDO on the Main Stage.

Thanks to Goethe-Institut Australia for offering this competition and congratulations to the prize winners of Deutsch roX:

First Prize: Ilaria, Sarah, Leeah, Jaimi and Caitlin from CLC Eltham

Second Prize: Scott from Caulfield Grammar School in Elsternwick

Third Prize: Jarrad and Jack from Mooroolbark Secondary College

Goethe-Institut / AGTV Year 10 Award Presentations 2011 at the GDO

These awards were presented at the German Day Out on the main stage at Federation Square in July.

Two students will be flying to German in January to attend a 3-week Language Course in Berlin with other students from around the world:

  • Eli from Bendigo South East College
  • Emily from Vermont Secondary College

Two other students will be honing their German language skills at a holiday course at the Goethe-Institut in Melbourne.

  • Dhanya from MacRobertson Girls High School
  • Leeah from CLC Eltham

BLOG by a Victorian Student on the BJR Exchange 2010-2011

SAGSE Scholarship De-Briefing in March 2012

Gemma O'Hare, the recipient of the AGTV sponsored Society for Australian-German Student Exchange scholarship in 2011, spoke very well at the De-Briefing held at Scotch College. The De-Briefing is where the scholarship winners formally report on their experiences to their sponsors and the public, including students interested in applying. 

If you are studying German in Year 11 or 12, you can apply for a SAGSE Scholarship. Or maybe you might like to host a student, which is possible for Year 10 students as well. Ask your teacher about the scholarship or visit the SAGSE website.

 

Blasts from the Pasts

Primary students wrote Elfchen poems after the Primary German Day Out at the Zoo in 2008.

A photo competition was held for students and teachers in 2007. Students had to snap traces of German in the community
