Environmental protection and the closely related sustainability are the focus of the first of our in-house exhibition program. 17 bilingual posters show how nature can be protected and saved for future generations through sustainable consumption. The exhibition shows a variety of vivid examples from Germany and ideas for putting them into practice.

The Goethe-Institut offers free guided tours through the exhibition with activities for school classes. Classroom materials for student preparation prior to visiting the exhibition will be emailed on request.

The exhibition is suitable for students in Year 9-12 and great for a VCE detailed study topic! The exhibition features texts in German and English.

Goethe-Institut PD Day for Primary teachers at the Hemisphere Centre in Moorabbin - teachers of Years 7 and 8 may also be interested in attending.

Topics: New materials for Umwelt from Goethe-Institut suitable for early learners; Learning strategies for early learners using the relationship between German and English; Assessment for transition; Promoting German; new resources and book seller displays. July 25 1.30-5pm Goethe-Institut: 'The German teacher as a producer' workshop for teachers - the age of I-Pod and YouTube has caused profound changes in our communication patterns- not only among young people. Everybody is their own star and producer. Everbody dreams of a musical breakthrough on YouTube. Can we afford to ignore this motivation for learning German? This hands-on event is organized like a role play. Through active participation, the German teachers will receive concrete, realizable examples of how to become a producer of songs in German and thereby to motivate their students to use the German language in a more liberated, creative and authentic way.
