Each official AGTV Network receives
funding from partial allocation of the individual and school AGTV membership
fees. When paying an AGTV membership, teachers and schools nominate with which
Network they and/or school is associated.

Each Network coordinates their own programs to meet local needs within the financial and human resources available. Typical activities include sharing ideas and resources at meetings, running professional learning, organizing Regional Finals for the AGTV Poetry Competition and other activities for students such as Partner-School Exchanges, Camps, Primary Days and Oral exam practice for VCE students.
Network activities are self-funding. Networks are encouraged to apply for grants to support their activities including accessing funding from DE&T Regional LOTE budgets and the AiSV where appropriate.
The Goethe-Institut Melbourne (GI)
initiated Resource Centres in each AGTV Network to provide teachers with materials
for use in classrooms.

The Network Leaders work cooperatively with the GI Resource Centre Managers in managing the centers and occasional network meetings should be held at the Resource Centres. Each year there is a joint conference for Network Leaders and the GI Resource Centre Managers.
The GI Melbourne also works cooperatively with Networks through occasional visits from the German Language Advisor to deliver professional learning programs. The current Advisor for Victoria is Torsten Schulz: torsten.schulz@melbourne.goethe.org.
